The Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust organized a grand theatrical and dance program at S.D. College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, bringing together a blend of artistic and social awareness performances. The event was graced by Dr. Raj Bahadur, Director of the Regional Spinal Injury Center, Mohali, as the chief guest.
The highlight of the evening was a thought-provoking play “Pukaar”, performed by artists from Aakanksha Sansthan, Jodhpur. The play, written by Dr. Nibedita and directed by Dr. Vikas Kapoor, portrayed the harsh realities of sexual violence and the psychological trauma endured by survivors. The powerful narrative and intense performances left a lasting impact on the audience.
Adding to the cultural vibrancy, the Sphinx Dance & Creation Group from Kolkata presented a mesmerizing Bharatanatyam performance. The dance, conceptualized and choreographed by Arunava Barman, brought to life the emotional depth of the Draupadi Vastraharan episode from the Mahabharata. The dramatic expressions and synchronized movements captivated the audience, earning widespread appreciation.
The festival witnessed participation from esteemed professors from various colleges and universities, doctors from PGI, judges, senior citizens, and other dignitaries. The performances resonated deeply with the attendees, emphasizing the importance of art in raising social consciousness.
Under the leadership of Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi “Sevisingh”, the Sarbat Da Bhala Trust has been instrumental in supporting and promoting artists across the country. The trust has been hosting national-level cultural festivals in Patiala, providing a platform for artists from different states to showcase their talent and reach wider audiences.
