Kangra Gears Up for NEET Re-Examination at 12 Centres on June 21

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), being re-conducted following the recent paper leak controversy, will be held on June 21 at 12 examination centres across Kangra district. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Vinay Kumar shared this information while chairing a review meeting on Friday to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the examination.

Addressing centre superintendents and officials, the ADC emphasized that the examination must be conducted with utmost seriousness and in strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA). He said elaborate security arrangements have been put in place, with police personnel being deployed at all centres. In addition, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) will also assist in maintaining security during the examination.

The ADC informed that the examination will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM, while specially-abled candidates will be provided compensatory time, allowing them to complete the examination by 6:20 PM.

Candidates will be permitted to enter the examination centres between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. He urged all aspirants to reach their respective centres well in advance to avoid last-minute rush and congestion at entry points.

To ensure transparency and prevent any malpractice, CCTV cameras and signal jammers will be installed at all examination centres. Video recording of candidates and overall centre activities will also be carried out. Furthermore, the transportation and movement of question papers and answer sheets will be monitored through a dedicated mobile application.

The designated examination centres in Kangra district include: Himachal Pradesh Regional Centre, Mohli Khaniyara; Government College Nagrota Bagwan (Centre-2, Ground Floor); Government College Dharamshala (Centre-2, Old Block); Government College Nagrota Bagwan (Centre-1, Second Floor); Government College Dharamshala (Arts Block); Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering College, Nagrota Bagwan; PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Palampur; Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Dharamshala; PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Dharamshala; State Institute of Hotel Management, Dharamshala; College of Agriculture, Palampur; and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bhanala.

Among those present at the meeting were Principal and NTA City Coordinator Sunil Chauhan, Deputy Superintendent of Police Nisha, SDM Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director of Elementary Education Ajay Singh, ITBP Inspector Ram Lal, HPSEBL representative Rakesh Kumar, examination superintendents, observers, ITBP personnel, and officials from various departments.
