Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering transparent, accountable and efficient public services, while reviewing the progress of the Chief Minister Dashboard, a digital platform designed to monitor the implementation of government schemes and development projects across the state.
Chairing a high-level meeting of the Department of Digital Technology and Governance in Shimla, the Chief Minister assessed the functioning of the online dashboard, which is being developed as a centralised monitoring system to track key programmes of various government departments in real time.
During the meeting, special focus was placed on flagship initiatives of the Horticulture Department, which are currently being prepared for integration into the platform. Officials informed the Chief Minister about the progress made so far and the roadmap for bringing these programmes under digital monitoring.
Sukhu said that other departments would also identify their priority schemes and flagship projects in the coming months. Once finalised, these programmes would be incorporated into the dashboard, enabling continuous tracking of implementation, progress and outcomes.
The Chief Minister noted that his government has launched several welfare-oriented initiatives over the last three-and-a-half years with the objective of improving the lives of ordinary citizens. He stressed that the success of any scheme depends on whether its benefits reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently and without delay.
According to Sukhu, the Chief Minister Dashboard will serve as an important governance tool by allowing the government to closely monitor the execution of development programmes and ensure greater accountability among departments. He said the platform would help identify bottlenecks, improve coordination and facilitate quicker decision-making.
Highlighting the growing role of technology in public administration, the Chief Minister said the state government is increasingly adopting modern digital solutions to strengthen governance mechanisms. He added that technology-driven systems are helping improve transparency, streamline departmental functioning and enhance service delivery to citizens.
“The objective is to ensure that every eligible person receives the benefits of government schemes in a timely and transparent manner. Technology can play a transformative role in achieving this goal,” Sukhu said during the review meeting.
The initiative is part of the state government’s broader efforts to modernise governance and build a more responsive administrative framework. Officials believe that real-time monitoring of schemes through digital platforms will improve efficiency, reduce delays and strengthen public trust in government services.
Revenue and Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi, senior bureaucrats including Secretaries C. Paulrasu and Ashish Singhmar, along with other senior officers, attended the meeting and reviewed the progress of various digital governance initiatives being undertaken by the state government.
The Chief Minister’s review comes at a time when governments across India are increasingly relying on technology-based solutions to improve transparency, monitor public expenditure and ensure effective implementation of welfare programmes. In Himachal Pradesh, the dashboard is expected to become a key instrument in tracking development outcomes and strengthening citizen-centric governance.
