THDCIL Hosts National Conclave ‘VIMARSH 2026’ in Rishikesh to Prepare Organisations for New Labour Codes

Rishikesh, October 30: THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has launched a two-day national HR conclave, ‘VIMARSH 2026 – THDC HR Confluence’, bringing together labour law experts, human resource professionals and industry representatives to deliberate on the implications of India’s new Labour Codes and the preparedness required for their effective implementation.

Being held at the Rasmanjari Auditorium in Rishikesh from October 30 to 31, the conclave is centred on the theme, “Workforce 2026: Driving Organisational Readiness for India’s New Labour Codes”. The event aims to examine the changing labour law framework and discuss how organisations can translate legislative reforms into practical workplace policies and systems.

The inaugural session was attended by THDCIL Managing Director Sipan Kumar Garg, who underlined the need for organisations to keep pace with changes in labour regulations and develop a clear implementation strategy. He described employees as an organisation’s most valuable asset and emphasised that human resource management has a wider responsibility beyond administration, particularly in developing talent, strengthening employee engagement and improving institutional performance.

Garg called for a forward-looking approach by HR professionals to prepare employees and organisations for emerging workplace challenges. He also stressed the importance of building productive, inclusive and future-ready work environments while ensuring that regulatory changes are reflected in effective organisational practices.

The opening keynote was delivered by Dr Onkar Sharma, former Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), who traced the legislative developments that led to the consolidation of India’s labour laws into four Labour Codes. His address examined the objectives behind the reforms, the evolution of the country’s labour law framework and the principles that will guide their implementation.

A special address by His Holiness Swami Yoga Swarupananda Ji added a perspective on ethics and values in professional life. Drawing on the philosophy of Karma Yoga, he highlighted the importance of responsible conduct, dedication to duty and selfless service.

A key feature of the inaugural programme was the release of the Labour Code Readiness Compendium. The publication has been prepared as a practical reference resource to help delegates understand the new Labour Codes and assess the steps required for their implementation within organisations.

Several other experts and senior representatives attended the event, including Vinay Trivedi, former Deputy Director General in the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment; Rupin Chopra, Associate Partner at S.S. Rana & Co.; and Ashissh Kaul, Senior Director, Advisory and Business Head, Public Sector Enterprises, SHRM. Their participation brought together perspectives from labour administration, legal practice, human resource management and industry.

The proceedings began with a welcome address by Dr A. N. Tripathy, Chief General Manager (HR-Administration, Corporate Centre), THDCIL, who outlined the purpose of the conclave and highlighted the importance of collective deliberations on workforce preparedness.

Through VIMARSH 2026, THDCIL is providing a national platform for discussions on the practical challenges and organisational responsibilities associated with the evolving labour law regime. The two-day conclave is expected to facilitate knowledge-sharing and encourage HR professionals and industry stakeholders to develop strategies for a more responsive, compliant and future-oriented workforce.
