CWC Takes Cognizance of Student Assault Cases in Kangra Schools

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kangra, has taken cognizance of incidents involving the alleged physical assault of students at two private schools in the district and has sought status reports from the concerned police stations.

Giving details, CWC Kangra Chairperson Vikramjit Sharma said the committee has sought a status report from the Nurpur police station regarding an incident in which a student was allegedly assaulted at a private school in Sadwan. The committee has also directed the police to take appropriate action in the matter.

He further stated that a status report has also been sought from the Sujanpur police station in Hamirpur district regarding a tragic case linked to the alleged assault of a student studying at a private school in Alampur, Kangra district. Necessary directions have been issued to ensure appropriate action in the case.

Vikramjit Sharma said the deceased student belonged to the Sujanpur area of Hamirpur district and was enrolled at the private school in Alampur. The committee is closely monitoring both cases and has sought detailed reports from the authorities concerned.
