
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital in Tanda, Kangra, Gets New Sarai Building

The newly constructed sarai building of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital, the largest government healthcare institution in Kangra district, is set to be handed over for public use soon. The building, built at a cost of approximately 2.75 crore rupees, was inspected today by the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra, Dr. Nipun Jindal, who held a meeting with officials to discuss its operationalization.
The District Magistrate revealed that the sarai building at Tanda Hospital is now ready, and it will be inaugurated and made available to patients and attendants by August. He stated that the operationalization of the building will provide significant convenience to the incoming patients and their attendants, ensuring improved accommodation arrangements. He further mentioned that Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has provided financial assistance for its construction through CSR, and financial aid has also been arranged through MP Lad’s funds.
Operation to be Managed by Red Cross The Deputy Commissioner informed that several crucial initiatives related to health services and facilities are being undertaken through the Red Cross in the district. He revealed that permission has been obtained from the government for the Red Cross Society and the Patient Welfare Committee to manage the sarai building. He added that the sarai will be run jointly by the District Red Cross Society and the Patient Welfare Committee. The District Magistrate explained that the sarai building will offer affordable accommodations and provide quality meals for patients and attendants.
