Congratulating the people on the occasion of the Pargat Diwas of Adi Kavi Karuna Sagar Bhagwan Valmiki Ji, Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema said that strengthening our society in the field of education will be a true tribute to the Adi Kavi.
Addressing the congregation after offering obeisance at Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sithal, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has been setting up institutions like the School of Eminence to provide quality education to the people of the state. He said that the progress of any society, state, or nation is impossible without ensuring quality education for all.
Cheema said that a panorama based on the teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki ji has been constructed by the Punjab government at a cost of around Rs 33 crores at Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth, which will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister soon.
Speaking on this occasion, Power and PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO gave a call to the people to follow the high ideals shown by Bhagwan Valmiki ji so that an egalitarian society could be created. He said that strengthening the spirit of peace, harmony, and community is the need of the hour. He said that the Punjab government is with the people of the state and is making best efforts for the betterment of every section of society.
Appealing to the people to come forward to educate every section of society, Local Government Minister Balkar Singh said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has taken historic initiatives to strengthen the state in the field of education and health. He said that the people should come forward to ensure that the benefit of these initiatives should reach to all at the grassroots level.
On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Laljit Singh Bhullar, MLAs Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Dr. Ajay Kumar Gupta, Jaswinder Singh Ramdas, Dalbir Singh Tong, Amarpal Singh and Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, Chairman, Pungrain, Baldev Singh Miadian, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar, Ghansham Thori, S.S.P. Satinder Singh, Chairman, District Planning Board, Jaspreet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mr. Harpreet Singh, SDM Arvinderpal Singh were also present.
